Natural Pain Relief Clinic
Natural Relief from Common Pain Symptoms through Acupuncture
Do you suffer from chronic pain or a niggling injury?
Is this affecting your physical performance or preventing you from doing the things you love?
Introducing Sheffield’s first Pop-Up Pain Clinic at the new treatment space in Prime Mover gym, offering acupuncture for pain management. Offering natural relief for musculoskeletal disorders, including:
— osteo and rheumatoid arthritis
— post-operative pain
— lower back pain
— repetitive strain injuries
— neck pain
— rotator cuff injuries
— frozen shoulder
— shin splints
— plantar fasciitis
— carpal tunnel syndrome
— knee pain
With Sheffield being the outdoor capital of the UK, it is not surprising that sprains, strains and arthritic conditions from cold weather and over-use are so common.
The Treatment // I love working with pain conditions as patients see results right there and then on the table, from 20% – 100% improvement, in some cases. No painful needles into the site of the injury, no fishing around for painful trigger points. Simple, effective distal acupuncture based on the intricate understanding of fascial lines (channel system). 1 hour treatment.
Get the “slight edge” in your sports performance by stimulating your body’s natural healing mechanism and relieving niggling pain from injuries. My aim is to get you back into action, performing at the top of your game, through the natural, pain free.
Testimonial #1 // Treating the lovely Mark from Rab last year at CWIF for an old rotator cuff injury. 30 minutes with needles in led to an instant reduction in pain that’s been niggling away for 18 months. As his first experience with acupuncture, Mark was a little skeptical. But I love his post treatment testimonial “Thanks for the acupuncture. The dull pain in my shoulder completely disappeared and I managed a pain-free session at the Climbing Works on Monday evening”.
Testimonial #2 // Plantar Fasciitis/Gout Pain — Steve had been unable to put foot to the ground without pain for 3 months. Doctors prescribed anti-inflammatories, suspecting gout as a diagnosis but had little effect. 1 acupuncture tx and the pain had completely disappeared. He is now running and playing squash again!
“In a nutshell, (and I understand this may sound a little idealistic) but the treatment for me was like jump starting the body’s healing engine. I am new to accupuncture and did not have any expectations as to any significant outcomes for the pain and inflammation in my toe joint. However, the pain reduction was immediate following treatment and I had the ability to put my weight down on my foot. Over the course of the next 2 days I was walking normally again, able to put my full weight on both feet again. Back to running and squash again. Having had a very slow recovery (more than 2 weeks) from a previous flare up treated by the GP with anti-inflammatory drugs I have to say Kimberley’s approach using accupuncture is vastly more effective. That is something I don’t think I can over emphasise. In my follow up treatment on my foot, some days later, the joint was back to normal…Lastly to say, Kimberley is a friendly, dedicated health practitioner who will put you at ease and give other helpful tips on recovery alongside treatment. I’d recommend this service if you want to try a powerful, drug free approach to overcoming common ailments.”
**DROP IN’S WELCOME**
Is it open to everyone?
Yes – as long as the main complaint is pain. It doesn’t matter whether your pain is muscular or joint related, in your head or legs – as long as pain is your chief complaint you can receive acupuncture.
Will the treatment I get be as good quality as if I had a one to one session?
Yes – Once the needles are in, you just need to relax for 20-30 mins. This gives your acupuncturist time to attend to other patients. By focusing simply on pain, I am able to reduce lengthy consultations times.
Why is this treatment cheaper than a standard private appointment for acupuncture?
I am committed to offering affordable healthcare that is open and accessible to everyone. This will also be in a “multi-bed setting” where there is another person in the same room as you, being treated at the same time.
Do I have to undress in public?
No – most parts of the body are accessible without removing clothes if you dress appropriately. For example, wearing vest tops instead of t-shirts allows us to treat the shoulder without removal of clothes. You will never be asked to remove your undergarments.
Can I claim back this treatment on WESTFIELD?
Yes – depending on what package you are on, you are able to claim up to 70% of your treatments back via Westfield. Simply ask me for a receipt afterwards.
Can I continue with my existing treatment?
Yes. Acupuncture is safe to use alongside conventional medication. The exceptions are blood thinning drugs and anti-coagulants (not aspirin). You can still receive acupuncture but it is important you bring exact details of your medication to the session. You can also have acupuncture alongside physiotherapy, osteopathy and any other forms of body work.
Are you a fully trained acupuncturist?
Yes. I am registered with the British Acupuncture Council after completing my degree in Acupuncture. I am registered with the local council and comply with all health and safety regulations.
What do I need to bring to my first session?
It is best to wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing. Please bring details of all prescribed and over the counter medication you have taken in the last 6 months.
Primarily for patients with acute or chronic pain
All ages from 16yrs upwards welcome
